FERNANDO VALVERDE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Governors of the State University System. Valverde, of Miami, is Florida regional president of Humana.

JOHN GUY AND STEVEN WHITTINGTON have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as judges in the 4th Judicial Circuit, which includes Clay, Duval and Nassau counties. Guy, of Jacksonville, has served as an assistant state attorney in the 4th Judicial Circuit since 1993 and is managing director of the office. Whittington, of Orange Park, is a partner with Whittington & Culbert, P.A.

ELIZABETH A. BLACKBURN AND MARY G. JOLLEY have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as judges in the 7th Judicial Circuit, which includes Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties. Blackburn, of Daytona Beach, is a partner with Cobb Cole, P.A. Jolley, of New Smyrna Beach, has served as an assistant county attorney for Volusia County since 2010.

JENNIFER BASS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 5th Judicial Circuit, which includes Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. Bass, of Ocala, has served as an assistant state attorney in the 5th Judicial Circuit since 2009.

DECLAN MANSFIELD has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 6th Judicial Circuit, which includes Pasco and Pinellas counties. Mansfield, of Bayonet Point, is a partner with Bianco & Mansfield, P.A.

ROBIN SAFLEY has been named executive director of the Florida Association of Food Banks. Safley most recently has served as director of the Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness at the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

PATRICIA MEDLOCK has been named regional managing director for the Florida Department of Children and Families' Northeast region. Medlock has served as interim regional managing director since September.

DANIEL BRADY, GUY NORRIS, KIMBERLY REZANKA AND STANLEY WESTON have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Commission on Ethics. Brady, of Miami Shores, is executive director of Douglas Gardens CMHC and an adjunct professor at Florida International University. Norris, of Lake City, is an attorney with Norris and Norris P.A. Rezanka, of Merritt Island, is an attorney with Dean Mead. Weston, of Jacksonville, is an attorney with Moseley, Prichard, Parrish, Knight and Jones.

TERESA SARNOFF, JOHN BROWNING, BETH KIGEL, JAMES SEBESTA AND JAY TRUMBULL have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Transportation Commission. Sarnoff, of Miami, is president of End Homelessness Now Inc and a Realtor with Cervera Real Estate. Browning, of East Palatka, is president of Browning Consulting and Browning Packing. Kigel, of Palm Beach Gardens, is president and chief executive officer of the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce. Sebesta, of St. Petersburg, is president of Sebesta Consulting Services and a former state senator. Trumbull, of Panama City, is owner and president of Trumbull Water Services of Northwest Florida. 

JEREMY "SHANE" GERWIG, BRADLEY SCHIFFER, KEVIN FLANAGAN, BRIAN SWOPE, ROBERT BOYER, JEFFREY STONE, JEFFERY GROSS, DONALD "DON" BROWN, DARRELL PHILLIPS, AND RICHARD BROWDY have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Building Commission. Gerwig, of Clermont, is building division manager and a building official for Lake County. Schiffer, of Naples, is an architect and the owner of Brad Schiffer TAXIS Inc. Flanagan, of Fort Lauderdale, is president of C & F Electric, Inc. Swope, of Wesley Chapel, is vice president of sales and operations for Tampa Roofing Company. Boyer, of Palm City, is the codes, product, and training coordinator for the Palm Beach County Building Division. Stone, of St. Petersburg Beach, is owner of Stone Resource Systems. Gross, of Hollywood, is an architect and president of Jeffery Gross Associates Architects PA. Brown, of DeFuniak Springs, is owner of Donald Brown Consulting and president of First National Insurance Agency, Inc., and is a former state House member. Phillips, of Tallahassee, is an architect, construction planner and design manager for the Florida Department of Education. Browdy, of Jacksonville, is the president of Browdy and Browdy, Inc.

DARYL ISENHOWER has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a St. Lucie County judge. Isenhower, of Port St. Lucie, has served as an assistant state attorney in the 19th Judicial Circuit since 1996.

BILL FOSTER AND NATHAN STONECIPHER have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the St. Petersburg College District Board of Trustees. Foster, of St. Petersburg, is an attorney and shareholder at Foster and Foster PA. Stonecipher, of St. Petersburg, is owner of Green Bench Brewing Co.

BETTY VIAMONTES has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Hillsborough Community College District Board of Trustees. Viamontes, of Odessa, is corporate controller of Tampa General Hospital.

JAMES "JIM" WATSON, NICHOLAS PAPPAS AND RANDY SCHWARTZBERG have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Athletic Training. Watson, of Tallahassee, is the director and coordinator for the community outreach program at Tallahassee Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy. Pappas, of Tallahassee, is an athletic trainer and coordinator of insurance and risk management with Florida State University. Schwartzberg, of Winter Springs, is a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon with the Orlando Orthopaedic Center.
 
ADRIA STARKEY AND JAMES "JIM" RASMUSSEN have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Prepaid College Board. Starkey, of Naples, is the Collier County president of FineMark National Bank and Trust. Rasmussen, of Tallahassee, most recently served as the chairman, president, and chief executive officer of SunTrust Bank of South Florida. 

BARRY "DALE" CALHOUN, RICHARD DELP AND JOHN JOHNSON have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the State Emergency Response Commission. Calhoun, of Crawfordville, is executive vice president of the Florida Propane Gas Association and executive director of the Florida Natural Gas Association. Delp, of Gulf Breeze, is an environmental engineer and project manager with Baskerville Donovan Inc. Johnson, of Quincy, is director of the office emergency response for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

LINDSEY TOOLE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County. Toole, of Venice, is a wealth adviser with Acumen Wealth Advisors.

CARLOS DEL CASTILLO has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County. Del Castillo, of Tampa, is vice president and general manager of Bright House Networks. 

RICHARD "RICK" HARPER has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Citrus County Hospital Board. Harper, of Inverness, is a real estate broker, investor, and the owner of Harper Realty, Inc.

JENNIFER WEST has been named executive director of the Consumer Federation of the Southeast. West previously served as owner of the California-based J. West Group, a marketing, public-relations and political-campaign consulting firm.

ROSEMARY BARKETT has been appointed by President Barack Obama to the Panel of Conciliators of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes. Barkett's past positions have included chief justice of the Florida Supreme Court and a judge on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

JAMES ZEDAKER has been named founding director for the proposed Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program at the Florida State University College of Medicine. Zedaker has served as founding director of a physician assistant studies program at Ohio University, where he also served as a clinical assistant professor.
