BOB WARD has been named president and chief executive officer of the Florida Council of 100. Ward most recently has served as clerk of the Florida House of Representatives.

CHRIS CATE has joined the public-relations firm Salter>Mitchell as senior public affairs director. Cate most recently worked as vice president of corporate communications for 180 Communications.

LON S. AREND has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 12th Judicial Circuit, which includes DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. Arend, of Palmetto, has most recently worked as chief assistant state attorney in the 12th Judicial Circuit.

DANIEL O'KEEFE AND FEDERICO FERNANDEZ have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the South Florida Water Management District. O'Keefe, of Windermere, is an attorney with Shutts & Bowen LLP. Fernandez, of Coral Gables, is an attorney with DiFalco and Fernandez.

BRYAN BESWICK, MARK TAYLOR AND MICHELLE WILLIAMSON have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Beswick, of Arcadia, is a grove manager with Premier Citrus Management LLC. Taylor, of Brooksville, is president of TTG Properties Inc. Williamson, of Dover, is a manager at G & F Farms. 

TODD REBOL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to CareerSource Florida, Inc. Rebol, of Port Charlotte, is vice president of Banks Engineering

VIRGINIA RUF has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 5. Ruf, of Clearwater, is a retired registered nurse.

KAREN OBERG, PATRICIA BELL KENNEALY AND CLAIRE FALIK have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 9. Oberg, of Lake Worth, is an advocate for persons with disabilities. Kennealy, of West Palm Beach, is chief executive officer for Home Care Service of Palm Beach County Corp. Falik, of Wellington, is a retired educator.

KARLA HERRERA has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 11. Herrera, of Homestead, is an advocate for persons with intellectual disabilities.

SIMONE BRATCHER AND LESLI CLARK have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 13. Bratcher, of Spring Hill, is an inclusion specialist with the Early Childhood Council of Hillsborough County. Clark, of Inverness, is a retired exceptional education teacher.

MELODY HEARN has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 15. Hearn, of Port St. Lucie, is a substitute teacher with Morningside Academy.
