DWIGHT BULLARD has been elected chairman of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party. Bullard represents District 39, which includes all or parts of Miami-Dade, Collier, Monroe and Hendry counties, in the Florida Senate.

NANCY ACEVEDO AND DHYANA ZIEGLER have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Commission on the Status of Women. Acevedo, of Winter Springs, is an intelligence analyst with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Ziegler, of Tallahassee, is the Garth C. Reeves imminent scholar chair of journalism at Florida A&M University.

LEE LOWRY AND PHILIP THORNE have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking. Lowry, of Tampa, is past president of The Junior League of Tampa. Thorne, of Panama City, is police chief of the city of Springfield.

JAMIE BRISTOW AND HOPE MCMATH have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Council on Arts and Culture. Bristow, of Pensacola, is the president of Nonprofit Match Inc. McMath, of Jacksonville, is director of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens.

SHANDALE TERRELL AND PHILIPPE VILLAIN have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Education Fund Board of Directors. Terrell, of Lakeland, is an adjunct professor for Polk State College and dean of students at Crystal Lake Middle School. Villain, of Orlando, is a vice president of Aramark.

DOUGLAS BOURNIQUE, JILL CREECH, KELLY SMALLRIDGE AND PETER SACHS have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council. Bournique, of Vero Beach, is executive vice president of the Indian River Citrus League. Creech, of Palm City, is the Southeast Florida district director for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Smallridge, of West Palm Beach, is president and chief executive officer of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County. Sachs, of Boca Raton, is a managing partner of Sachs Sax Caplan.

JOSEPH ANGELINI has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Children’s Services Council of Charlotte County. Angelini, of Punta Gorda, is a Punta Gorda police officer.

CLEVELAND FANN AND CAROLINE FITZGERALD have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Fann, of Niceville, is central district operations manager for Gulf Power Company. FitzGerald, of Fort Walton Beach, is office manager of Mauri G. Launderman, MD.
