GERALDINE THOMPSON has been elected chairwoman of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus. Thompson is a state senator who represents Orange County's District 12.

ALAN LEVINE has been elected chairman of the Florida Higher Education Coordinating Council. Levine is a member of the state university system's Board of Governors and is president and chief executive officer of Mountain States Health Alliance.

KEITH HETRICK has been named general counsel of the Florida Public Service Commission. Hetrick has worked for law firms including Broad and Cassel and Greenberg Traurig and has served as general counsel of the Florida Home Builders Association.

PAMELA COTHRAN MARSH has joined the Berger Singerman law firm. Marsh is a former U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

MELINDA N. COONROD has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott and the state Cabinet as chairwoman of the Florida Commission on Offender Review. Coonrod was appointed to the commission in 2012 and was confirmed by the Senate in 2013 to serve a six-year term.

ROBERT D. CRUZ has been named chief economist at Florida TaxWatch. Cruz has served as department chairman of the Business School at the Kendall Campus of Miami-Dade College. He was also chief economist for Miami-Dade County.

VIRGINIA HAWORTH has been hired by Reform Washington PAC to work on its fund-raising team. Haworth formerly worked as finance director for the Let's Get to Work PAC and held positions in Gov. Rick Scott's administration.

JOHN BROWNING has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the St. Johns River Water Management District Governing Board. Browning, of East Palatka, is president of Browning Consulting and Browning Packing.

AMANDA BAKER, PHILLIP STEVENS, CONNEY DAHN, LAURIE HARLOW, SYLVIA JAMES-MILLER, JACK KOSIK, THOMAS "TJ" MOON, TRICIA RICCARDI, LOUIS TOWSON AND VICTORIA ZEPP have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council. Baker, of Panama City, is a technician for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Panama City. Stevens, of Tampa, is a division vice president at Jacobs Engineering. Dahn, of Stuart, is a teacher with the Martin County school district. Harlow, of Tampa, is a registered nurse with Life Path Hospice. James-Miller, of Ocala, is an independent waiver support coordinator with Endless Possibilities Waiver Support. Kosik, of Lakeland, is executive director of Noah's Ark of Central Florida. Moon, of Ocala, is former owner of Moonscapes Inc. Riccardi, of Orlando, is chief executive officer of The Dream Society. Towson, of Marianna, is a retired custodial worker. Zepp, of Tallahassee, is chief executive officer of Zepp Strategic Partners.

JOSEPH STRICKLAND AND JAMES "JIM" PEARCE have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Podiatric Medicine. Strickland, of Clearwater, is a self-employed podiatrist. Pearce, of Groveland, is retired from the state of Florida.

WAYNE R. ROSEN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Orthotists and Prosthetists. Rosen, of Davie, is a prosthetist, an orthotist and a shareholder with W. R. Rosen, Inc.

ALBERT MAURY AND JORGE L. ARRIZURIETA have been named to positions on the Florida International University Board of Trustees. Maury, who was named chairman emeritus, is president and CEO of Leon Medical Centers Health Plans. Arrizurieta, who was named vice chairman, is president of the business-development and government-relations consulting firm Arrizurieta and Associates.

PATRICIA BRIGHAM has been named first vice president of the League of Women Voters of Florida. Brigham formed and chairs the group's Gun Safety Committee. 

ROBERTO MARTELL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Miami-Dade County. Martell is mayor of the town of Medley.

ARTHUR "CHIP" DIEHL III has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. Diehl, of Tampa, is managing director of Diehl Associates and a retired brigadier general with the United States Air Force
