PEPPER UCHINO will join the public-affairs firm Anfield Consulting. Uchino most recently was staff director of the Senate Environmental Preservation and Conservation Committee and the Select Committee on Indian River Lagoon and Lake Okeechobee Basin.

JOSEPH SALZVERG has joined the government-relations and political-consulting firm Capitol Insight. Salzverg most recently worked as a campaign manager and political consultant for members of the Miami-Dade County legislative delegation.

TERESA "TERI" KAKLIS DEES has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 12th Judicial Circuit, which includes DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. Dees, of Palmetto, has been a partner at the Law Office of Weiffenbach & Kaklis since 1997.

KRISTINA K. MOBLEY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Clay County judge. Mobley, of Fleming Island, has worked for the 4th Judicial Circuit as a judicial staff attorney since 2009.

CHRISTIAN BAX has been named director of the Office of Compassionate Use at the Florida Department of Health. Bax previously co-founded CBK Consulting, a company with expertise in medical marijuana regulations in Nevada and Washington.

RONALD A. BRISE has been named to lead the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners' new "Telecommunications Act Modernization Taskforce." Brise is a member of the Florida Public Service Commission and formerly served in the Florida House.

LISA GROSSMAN, SCOTT DARIUS AND KYLE SIMON have been named to new positions at the health-advocacy group Florida CHAIN. Grossman, who most recently has worked as operations and finance director, will serve as interim CEO. Darius, who has worked as digital and community organizer, will serve as advocacy director. Simon will be external affairs and communications director.

SUZANNE MCCORMICK AND MELISSA TURNEY have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Children's Services Council of Charlotte County. McCormick, of Punta Gorda, is a guardian ad litem volunteer advocate. Turney, of Port Charlotte, is the bureau of detention assistant commander for the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.
