DANIEL DOYLE, JR., has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the state university system's Board of Governors. Doyle, of Belleair, is the president and chief executive officer of of Dex Imaging Inc.

SARAH HANSFORD AND PATRICK GILLESPIE have joined the public-relations firm CoreMessage Inc. Hansford most recently worked as director of special projects at the Florida Department of Education and previously was chief of staff to First Lady Ann Scott. Gillespie has been the Florida Department of Environmental Protection press secretary since 2012 and also is a former journalist.

FOYT RALSTON has joined the firm Bryant Miller Olive in its governmental consulting practice. Ralston, of Tallahassee, previously held positions such as state chief information officer and staff director for the Senate Majority Office.

DANIEL TRAVER has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 9th Judicial Circuit, which includes Orange and Osceola counties. Traver, of Orlando, has most recently been a shareholder with the firm GrayRobinson P.A.

BERNARDO NAVARRO, ARMANDO BUCELO, JR., AND HELEN AGUIRRE FERRE have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Miami Dade College District Board of Trustees. Navarro, of Miami, is the president of Benworth Capital Partners LLC. Bucelo, of Coral Gables, is an attorney with Zumpano Castro LLC. Ferre, of Miami Shores, is a national radio show host with Univision America Radio and is a columnist for The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald.

CAROLYN WILLIAMS has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees. Williams, of West Palm Beach, is a retired senior staff adviser for the South Florida Water Management District.

DONALD M. "SONNY" MCCATHRAN, Jr., has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Hernando County judge. McCathran has worked as an assistant state attorney in 5th Judicial Circuit.

SHADDRICK A. HASTON has been named chief executive officer of the Florida Assisted Living Association. Haston most recently has worked as manager of the Agency for Health Care Administration's Assisted Living Unit.

JORGE J. LOPEZ AND BRIGITTE R. GOERSCH have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Medicine. Lopez, of Orlando, is president of Florida Emergency Physicians. Goersch, of Satellite Beach, is the president of Lionheart Enterprises.

SARAH WALTON has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Environmental Regulation Commission. Walton, of Pensacola, is an attorney with Philip A. Bates PA.

JAMES LANE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Accountancy. Lane, of Winter Park, is a certified public accountant with Averett, Warmus, Durkee.

ELENA GUARDIOLA SPOTTSWOOD AND DEBORAH COX-ROUSH have been appointed to the Florida Commission on the Status of Women. Spottswood, of Key West, was appointed to the commission by Attorney General Pam Bondi. Cox-Roush, of Lithia, was appointed by House Speaker Will Weatherford.

KAHREEM T.D. GOLDEN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Advisory Council. Golden, of Panama City, is a student at Florida State University.

THOMAS G. KUNTZ has been elected to serve as chairman of the Higher Education Coordinating Council. Kuntz, of Winter Park, serves on the state university system's Board of Governors and retired after working as chairman, president and chief executive officer of SunTrust Bank, Florida.

BRUCE BARR, DAVID BOTKNECHT AND BEN SMITH have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Electrical Contractors Licensing Board. Barr, of Orlando, is a lighting supervisor with Universal Orlando. Botknecht, of Hollywood, is the chief executive officer of HW Automation Inc. Smith, of Jacksonville, is the president of Marco Heating and Air Inc.

HARRY BETHEL AND AILTON LOPEZ have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Monroe County Housing Authority. Bethel, of Key West, is a retired department director with the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority. Lopez, of Key Largo, is an employee of the Postcard Inn at Holiday Isle Resort.

WENDY COKER, HEATHER HANCOCK, PATRICIA MCCOY, MELISA JAHNER AND ELIZABETH MAXWELL have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Children’s Services Council of Okeechobee County. Coker, of Okeechobee, is the coordinator of exceptional student education with the Okeechobee County School Board. Hancock, of Okeechobee, is an executive assistant at CenterState Bank. McCoy, of Okeechobee, is a principal with the Okeechobee County School Board. Jahner, of Okeechobee, is the deputy clerk of the city of Okeechobee. Maxwell, of Okeechobee, is an attorney with Maxwell & Maxwell P.A.
