BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

Facing a well-funded challenger in a redrawn district, state Sen. Anitere Flores, R-Miami, raised $124,275 in March, bringing her overall total to $527,218, according to a newly filed finance report. Flores, who is running in redrawn Senate District 39, had about $306,000 in cash on hand as of March 31. Her March contributions came during the last two weeks of the month, after the March 11 end of the legislative session. Democratic candidate Andrew Korge pulled in $16,472 during the month, bringing his overall total to $220,750, according to his report posted on the state Division of Elections website. He had about $152,000 in cash on hand as of March 31. Another Democrat in the race, Daniel Horton, was not required to file a finance report by a Monday deadline because he opened a campaign account April 1. No-party candidate Sheila Lucas George had not raised any money. District 39 includes part of Miami-Dade County and Monroe County.
