Firms top $250K lobbying Legislature

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

With the latest compensation numbers gradually trickling in, two firms have reported they earned at least $250,000 lobbying the Legislature from July 1 to Sept. 30, according to a state website. Lobbying firms are required by Nov. 14 to file information about their third-quarter compensation. Generally, firms list their compensation in ranges by client. The firm Metz Husband & Daughton reported last week that it earned $500,000 to $999,999 lobbying lawmakers from July 1 to Sept. 30. That included earning $30,000 to $39,999 from The Florida Bar, according to the report. Earlier this month, the firm Heffley & Associates reported quarterly compensation of $250,000 to $499,999 for its legislative work. That included $30,000 to $39,999 from the Florida Medical Association.
