Crisafulli, Oliva committees each top $135K

Political committees led by House Speaker Steve Crisafulli and likely future Speaker Jose Oliva each collected more than $135,000 in contributions last month, according to newly filed finance reports. Crisafulli's "Growing Florida's Future" committee raised $136,000 and had about $600,000 in available cash as of Jan. 31. Among the contributions was $25,000 from a Florida Medical Association PAC and $25,000 from an organization linked to Associated Industries of Florida.

Meanwhile, Oliva's "Conservative Principles for Florida" committee brought in $135,500 during the month and had about $541,000 in available cash as of Jan. 31, according to the reports. Contributors included $35,000 from the health insurer Florida Blue. Oliva is in line to become speaker after the 2018 elections.
